Medico-Legal Testing Procedure

Randox Testing Services provides drug and alcohol testing for professionals within the medico-legal industry. By choosing us for your testing requirements, we guarantee accurate testing at competitive prices.

Below outlines the process of testing for those in the medico-legal industry.

1

Initial Consultation with Randox Testing Services

Our drug and alcohol screening procedure begins with a free consultation with one of our experienced customer service operatives. During the consultation, we will discuss your testing requirements and put together a package tailored to your needs.

2

Create a Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy

After gaining informed consent from the sample donor, samples are collected by one of our collection officers. We will utilise sample methods agreed during consultation, and maintain sample integrity by following strict chain of custody procedures. Unique identification numbers are assigned to donors to ensure donor name or sample origin is not known by laboratory staff performing sample analysis. In addition, barcodes are placed on sample bottles and relevant paperwork to ensure traceability of results to the correct donor.

Sample Analysis

Samples are checked to ensure chain of custody procedures have been followed. They are then screened to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Upon analysis of samples, required actions differ depending on the result:

Negative Results

The donor is cleared of having drugs or alcohol in their system

Presumptive Positive Results

This indicates the presence of a particular substance. In this case further analysis is required

Confirmatory Testing

This is carried out on presumptive positive results

Positive Results

If positive after confirmatory testing, a report will be written and will state which drugs were found and at what concentration

Results Reporting

After gaining informed consent from employees, our network of trained and experienced sample collection officers collect samples using your chosen method of testing at a time and location that suits. Alternatively, we offer training and education to allow your own staff to collect samples from employees.

Throughout sample collection, sample integrity is maintained following strict chain of custody criteria. Unique identification numbers are assigned to employees to ensure employee names or company information is not known by laboratory staff performing sample analysis.
